colorado, year one

IT’S SEPTEMBER!! This is one of my favorite months. The leaves start turning, the temperatures start to cool. September always feels more like the start of the new year than January does. Am I right?!

Yesterday marked ONE FULL YEAR that we’ve been in Colorado. We’re in a new apartment and are SO excited about the upcoming year. Year two. Year two of marriage, which you know we’ve been absolutely e c s t a t i c about, and year two of Colorado. It’s been good to us out here. We’ve had to do some adjusting – okay, mostly I’VE had to some adjusting. One surefire way to learn whether or not you’re a creature of habit and familiarity is to move to a new place. Turns out I tend to be pretty set in my ways about certain things. (Yes mom, I realize you’ve known this about me for YEARS. It took me 27 to figure it out.)

For example, not all sweet corn is created equal. Like, no sweet corn ever is anywhere near as good as what comes from Grampa’s or your Uncle’s field. This has been a huge disappointment.

Regardless, Colorado’s been good and I’ve no doubt this next year will bring even more goodness. Here are just a few phone photos from our anniversary dinner and fun photo shoot (HUGE thanks to Amanda! Can’t wait to show ya’ll more of her incredible talent!), a couple hikes, a video shoot (coming soon!), and a photo of our new bedroom (full apartment tour to come!).
