diy house number planter

The 4th of July weekend is for projects! We painted THREE doors AND our flower boxes YELLOW. That alone is huge. I can’t wait to show them to you. 🙂 When it comes to projecting, if you’re on a roll you need to keep going with it. That said, we couldn’t just stop at the painting, so we came up with a plan for a new house number get-up!

I’ve been pinning inspiration like crazy and quickly noticed a pattern. We needed something semi-modern with a planter box. Neither of us are the best at following directions, so once we had an idea of what we wanted to do, we just got right to work pulling ideas from several sources, making stuff up as we went. We’re on a majorly strict budget for extra stuff like this (ya know… diapers. Need I say more?), so it’s a fun challenge to work with what we’ve already got to make these projects as affordable as possible!

I can’t take any of the credit for this… except arranging the flowers and pinning the inspiration. GO DAVE! I’m so happy with how it turned out! Here’s a price breakdown:

  • Stained wood back: $0. We already had the wood & the stain!
  • White wood flower box: $0. Reuse of a wedding centerpiece box!
  • House numbers: $15 ($5 each)
  • Flower box stuffing: $3
  • Flowers: $8. They were all marked 80% off at Michaels yesterday!

Stayed tuned for those yellow doors I keep talking about! 🙂
