patriotic puppy chow

I’m not much of a cook, so you won’t see me posting many food related posts. Unless it’s about eating food. I’m good at that part. But, puppy chow is super easy and tossing in some red and blue makes it such a good snack for the upcoming holiday. God bless America, ya’ll. 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 9 cups Chex Mix
  • 1/2 cup Peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 cup Powdered sugar (we like it extra powdery!!)
  • 1 bag Red, White, & Blue M&Ms
  • Patriotic sprinkles

Put the Chex Mix in a large bowl. Heat the peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.

Pour the chocolatey mixture over the Chex Mix. Using a wooden spoon, gently stir to coat all the cereal.

Dump the chocolately Chex Mix into a large bag (garbage bags work well!), and mix in the powered sugar. Tie the bag closed and shake like crazy!

Once every piece is coated, pour back into the large bowl and mix with the M&Ms and sprinkles. Cover, and put in the fridge to cool for a bit. Then, ENJOY!! 🙂

I hope you’re all able to celebrate with friends, family, and delicious food this holiday!! Yay, USA! 🙂
