the good & the bad. trimester 1.

They tell ya that the first trimester can be a doozy. They weren’t lying. I know I have to be thankful, because some poor women experience the sickness their e n t i r e pregnancy. I only had about 8 really awful weeks (aaaaand then about 5 only semi-awful weeks). If you were wondering where I disappeared to during all of September and October, now you know. I was in bed or on the sofa, usually unable to move, and alternating between sleeping, praying I’d feel better soon, and telling myself that being sick (over and over again) was a good sign that baby was healthy! I couldn’t even tell ya how many times poor Dave begged to take me to Urgent Care. “This is nooorrmmaalll, I swear!” was my genius response. My head was in the toilet for YOU, little man McCann!

Not that you probably really care (but maybe you do, I dunno!) here’s the good and the bad of the first trimester foods:

the GOOD 🙂

  • Dave’s homemade macaroni & cheese
  • mozzarella sticks
  • skim milk
  • Sonic Cherry Limeaids
  • cheese calzones (are you seeing a cheese & dairy trend here!? Lordy.

the BAD 🙁

  • orange juice
  • table salt
  • saltine crackers
  • fruit snacks
  • pizza sauce
  • all fruit, but especially bananas. gross.
  • Malt-o-Meal. I don’t know what I was thinking there.
  • annnd basically everything else not on the Good list.

Unrelated to food, there were two things I knew for sure upon first learning I was pregnant: Solly Baby Wrap & foxes. I’m off to a good start, I’d say. 🙂 IMG_4374
